Hazelnut Shell
High-calorie biomass fuel and blasting abrasive; wholesale for domestic and export.
Shells & Biomass Fuel
Eleven shell and processed-biofuel products in one family: from solid fuel that feeds a boiler to an abrasive that cleans metal without scratching it — all from the same source, solid biomass.
Nut shells and biomass fuel are two branches of the same family. Shells such as hazelnut, walnut and apricot are used raw as solid fuel, blasting abrasive, filtration media and cosmetic-peeling raw material. The processed form of the same raw material is olive pomace, pine pellets and hazelnut-shell charcoal — supplied in a form tailored to boilers, greenhouses and kitchens. Across the eleven products in this category, the difference is whether the form is raw or processed. Yelisan Group gathers these eleven items from Türkiye and ships them by truck domestically and by container for export.
This category brings together two separate product groups but rests on one logic: all of it is solid biomass. Hazelnut, walnut, apricot kernel, almond, pistachio, peach kernel and sour-cherry pit shells come raw — reaching the buyer whole, cracked or ground, as fuel or abrasive. Olive-pomace pellets, pine pellets and hazelnut-shell charcoal are the same raw-material family one step processed: a pressed or carbonized form, calibrated to the boiler or the grill. For the buyer, the real question is not “shell or pellet” but which form your operation accepts.
Türkiye offers a favorable sourcing geography for all eleven products. The Black Sea region feeds hazelnut shell and hazelnut-shell charcoal; the Malatya area, apricot kernel shell; the Aegean and Mediterranean yield both almond and peach kernel shell and the olive pomace dried from olive-mill residue; and pine sawdust, a by-product of the forest-products industry, is pressed into pine pellets at pellet plants across the country. For items tied to a harvest and processing season, batches are stocked after harvest and turned into steady, year-round shipments.
Yelisan Group is a supplier and exporter that works close to the source. We source raw shell from cracking and kernel-processing facilities, and pellets and charcoal from the relevant production lines, and we coordinate grinding, sizing and packaging according to the intended use. Domestically we load by truck to factories, boiler rooms, greenhouses, blasting workshops and wholesalers; for export we load 20ft or 40ft HQ containers on FOB/CIF terms. We do not publish a price list — we quote once the product, form and quantity are clear.
Comparison
The table is kept qualitative for guidance; if you'd like exact values such as calorific value, moisture, ash and calibre, typical reference ranges are shared on request; an exact per-batch guarantee is not offered, and this can also be confirmed with a sample.

High-calorie biomass fuel and blasting abrasive; wholesale for domestic and export.
Hard and dense; preferred as industrial abrasive and filtration media.
Malatya origin; high-lignin biomass and cosmetic peeling raw material.
Light, fibrous shell for biomass fuel and animal bedding.
Decorative and fuel-grade; low moisture, ready for wholesale shipment.
High hardness; blasting abrasive and activated-carbon feedstock.
For heat-pad filling and light abrasive use; whole or cracked, as requested.
Economical biomass solid fuel from olive pomace.
Low ash, high calorie; standard wood pellet for boilers and stoves.
Briquettes pressed from hazelnut shell; long-lasting embers, low smoke.
A light, fibrous legume husk; fuel as pressed pellet, bedding in natural form — bulk only.
Applications
Raw shell, olive pomace, pine pellets and hazelnut-shell charcoal are burned as a solid-fuel alternative to coal, from industrial boilers to power plants. State the system type and feed method and we suggest the right form.
Silica-free shell strips rust and coatings without deforming the surface, in shipyards, metalworking and paint removal. For organic dust, workplace ventilation and respiratory protection are standard practice.
In oil–water separation systems and industrial filters, walnut and hazelnut shell are used as filtration media. In this application, grain structure and cleanliness are decisive.
As microplastic restrictions grow, finely ground apricot and almond shell are sought as a natural alternative for peeling and polishing. Batches to a stricter particle-size and cleanliness standard are available.
In restaurants, kebab houses, hotels and catering lines, hazelnut-shell charcoal directly affects service speed: the longer the embers last, the less tending the grill needs.
Mediterranean and Aegean greenhouse operations use pellets and shell for winter heating; fibrous shells serve as farm bedding, and light-colored pistachio shell as garden mulch.
Who it’s for
As the buyer’s job changes, so does the right product. Start with whichever one describes you.
Wants uninterrupted, consistent-form fuel year-round — raw shell, pellet or charcoal, it doesn’t matter; what counts is getting the same result batch after batch. Regular truckload shipments and reliable lead times matter more than a one-off cheap batch.
Wants a silica-free abrasive that doesn’t erode the metal. Calibre consistency comes first; the result is expected not to change when the batch changes.
Works with a finely ground, uniform and clean batch. Grind fineness and hygiene standards are part of the contract, not discussed after the fact.
Expects a low-moisture, clean batch by the container, and may combine shell, pellet and charcoal in one load. Looks for clarity on FOB/CIF terms, packaging and paperwork. We ship export by the container.
Selection guide
The same product family goes to two different jobs, but not the same batch. For fuel you talk about calorific value and moisture; for abrasive, hardness and calibre. Tell us your axis up front.
Auto-fed boilers that need a cylindrical fuel want pellets; a grill, a traditional boiler or abrasive/cosmetic use runs on raw shell. The two forms are not interchangeable — state your boiler or use type.
Whole, cracked or ground shell, or pellets in a standard form — available in defined calibre ranges and pressed to order. Filtration- and cosmetic-grade batches can be found to a stricter cleanliness standard; landscaping calls for uniform color and size.
Hazelnut shell is the most abundant source year-round; seasonal items such as apricot kernel shell and olive pomace are stocked after harvest. For large-volume or long-term agreements, the delivery schedule is set out from the start.
FAQ
For continuously running boilers and plants, dense shells that hold embers a long time (walnut, peach kernel, hazelnut) or, at industrial scale, economical olive pomace stand out. If clean burning and low maintenance come first, pine pellets are preferred; in kitchens that need long-lasting embers for cooking, hazelnut-shell charcoal. Tell us the boiler type and delivery point and we’ll suggest the right form.
Auto-fed boilers and burners that require a cylindrical fuel want pellets; a grill, a traditional boiler or abrasive/cosmetic use runs on raw shell. Both come from the same raw-material family but are not interchangeable in the same system. Share your boiler or use type and we’ll pin down the right form together.
For stubborn rust and old coating removal, peach kernel and walnut shell are preferred; on soft metals and delicate surfaces, hazelnut or almond shell is safer. Shell abrasives contain no crystalline silica — the cause of silicosis risk — which is the main reason they are chosen over sand. Even so, as with any blasting dust, ventilation and respiratory protection are required.
We don’t publish a fixed list, because these values change from batch to batch with the source, harvest and processing. On request we share typical reference ranges for the batch to be shipped; an exact per-batch guarantee is not offered; for serious, high-volume purchases, a sample option is also considered.
Domestically we deliver by truck to factories, plants, greenhouses and wholesalers; the process is shorter and more flexible. Export brings in 20ft or 40ft HQ containers, standard Incoterms such as FOB/CIF, and a paperwork flow including the certificate of origin. Both go through the same quote and agreement process; for serious, high-volume requests, a sample step is also considered.
Yes. Combining raw shell, pellets and charcoal in one shipment is common among buyers who want to make the most of container capacity, especially for export. Each item comes in its own packaging with its own paperwork; we plan the quantity split around your request.
